Type Designer / Full Time / Paid

We are currently looking for a type designer to join our team. You will be working directly on custom type projects, as well as a range of library releases, including extending into additional weights, character sets and features.

Role Details

You Should Have:
— Around one years industry experience
— Be forward thinking, decisive and a team player
— A strong visual aesthetic, and understanding of the necessary technical skills to produce great work
— A good understanding of current type design and typographic driven design culture
— Strong conceptual skills and thinking

Skill/Attributes Required

Key Skills:
— Great communication skills (written and spoken)
— Attention to detail at the extreme level
— Ability to work in a team
— Typographic understanding
— In-depth knowledge of Glyphs
— Experience with multi-style designs
— Excellent working knowledge of the common Adobe Programmes (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop)
— Ability to handle multiple projects at once
— Ability to plan
— Forward-thinking and management of your own time to allow for the best result in each project
— Be flexible, adaptive and able to ‘muck-in’

Beneficial Skills:
— Knowledge of Python
— Font engineering workflows, shell scripting
— Knowledge of other scripts (Cyrillic, Greek, Arabic, Thai)

To Consider:
— The role starts with a three month trial period
— Our studio is in Islington, London
— You will be working with a 5 person team, and we are continuing to expand
