Tired of seeing the same mockups over and over again, Anthony Wood, Shillington’s Creative Director and Global Managing Director, knew that he had to do something about it. So he put pen to paper, cursor to screen and, last year, House of Mockups was born. He’s now offering an exclusive 20% discount for graduates and friends of Shillington with the code SHILLUMNI2021.
We chatted to Anthony about why he thought House of Mockups was necessary, why mockups are important and that all important discount!
Established as a fierce creative community, House of Mockups was founded on the idea that amazing designers deserve mockups that match their quality. They source free and premium mockups straight from those who use them—designers and creatives. How do they do this? They work directly with creatives—including Shanti Sparrow, Annette Dennis and Partner Studio Co.—so they can get the exact, photorealistic mockups that the industry needs and wants.
We caught up with Anthony to talk about why he decided to start HoM:
“House of Mockups was born out of the pandemic. I’m a workaholic and was spending all my waking hours at Shillington — I needed to focus my energies into something other than my job and wanted it to help the creative community at Shillington.
Mockups are not new, but I see the same mockups in portfolios time after time. They are often low quality, and distract from the amazing work. So, HOM was born from that!”
As Anthony said mockups are nothing new—but as they are such an essential element of so many portfolios, its absolutely paramount that they really make a design shine! He explained to us why they are important:
“Maximum impact really comes from the designers incredible work and ideas, but a great mockup can really make the work shine, and make it feel totally real.”
“Choose mockups that work with your design. They should also be high resolution, realistic and stylish.”
Though, Anthony also understands that not every designer, especially those who are finding their feet in the industry can pay top dollar for mockups. With this in mind, he knew it was fundamental for House of Mockups to have free mockups so even students and graduates can make their portfolio look the best they can. Freebies include app screens, outdoor advertising and even an ice cream tub.
On top of this, he is also offering an exclusive 20% discount off House of Mockups paid mockups for all our global Shillumni with the code SHILLUMNI2021.
So there’s really no excuse for not having top notch mock ups across your entire portfolio!
What’s even better is that by using House of Mockups, you’ll also be donating to charity! On select mockups, 10% of the profits go directly to the Transgender Law Centre. The TLC is the largest US national trans-led organisation, that advocates self-determination for all people.
What are you waiting for? Get over to House of Mockups for all your mocking up needs. And don’t forget that 20% off code: SHILLUMNI2021.
