#ILoveTheseGuys Creative Inspiration: Juana Alvarez

Shillington students from around the world share the work of creatives who inspire them in the #ILoveTheseGuys series. In this post, New York graduate Emily Simonson highlights projects from the Argentinian designer Juana Alvarez.

I love Juana Alvarez’s clean and elegant portfolio. The solid, light grey background allows her work to truly stand out. Her personal logo is extremely simple, yet sophisticated. When hovered over, the logo changes state several times, varying elements such as color, weight, and typeface. The transforming logo adds an element of tasteful playfulness to her portfolio, which is reflected in many of her design pieces.

Juana Alvarez displays her work as rectangles that are stacked in an organized three-column layout. The hover state of the images adds a fun pop-bright green to the portfolio. It also allows the viewer to navigate through her collection clearly and easily. Displaying the name of the project on the hover state allows the portfolio to maximize its negative space and maintain its clean appearance. Juana Alvarez demonstrates a strong understanding of design principles through her stunning portfolio and inspiring work!
