Who is Shillington?
Shillington is a progressive design school that provides an inspirational and fun learning environment for both students and teachers. Our emphasis is on training employable designers who graduate with relevant industry skills and an outstanding portfolio.

About The Role
We’re on the lookout for talented, dedicated, practicing graphic designers who want to take the next step in their careers and join our passionate full-time teaching team in Sydney.

In this role you are primarily responsible for the successful running of the 3-month full-time course. This includes all aspects of course delivery, content preparation and classroom management to ensure Shillington teaching standards are upheld and students achieve the best possible outcomes. You are also expected to play a pro-active role in the constant development of existing course content both inside and outside of the classroom.

As a full-time design teacher, you would be preparing individuals for a new career as a Graphic Designer. No previous teaching experience required!

What You’ll Do
• Maintain and improve the level of student work, by ensuring that all course content both formal and informal is delivered as specified, on time, and in an appropriate manner
• Provide comprehensive feedback on student work and give constructive criticism
• Deliver briefs, lectures, and demonstrations and constantly be looking to improve your techniques
• Maintain all course administration required including but not limited to attendance, reviews, assessments, surveys, and delivery schedules
• Train and support new teachers
• Complete tasks delegated to you through the Content, Careers or Marketing teams
• Attend scheduled team WIP meetings, regularly communicate with the global leadership team with updates and attend AGM’s
• Report any technical or studio concerns immediately to the Experience Manager or on the IT Helpdesk
• Report any teaching or student issues/concerns directly to Leads/Heads/Directors
• Provide cover and assist with teaching in other FT and PT streams when required
• Deliver info-sessions when required
• Help organise, set up and facilitate Shillington events
• Maintain a clean, organised and creative classroom environment
• Strive to nurture independent students who will in turn become self-sufficient designers.

Teaching Hours
As a full-time teacher—these would be your expected class contact hours:

Mon-Thur: 7.45am-5.30pm, Fri: 7.45am-5.00pm

Class starts at 8am sharp. There is a 15 min break at 10am, 1 hour of lunch at 12.30, and another 15min break at 3pm. Classes conclude at 5pm.
