A bit about us.

Storyflight specialises in natural heritage interpretation and science communication. We’re a small studio of passionate communication specialists who love science and the environment.

We partner with purpose-led organisations and government agencies across Australia in the fields of natural area management, sustainability and conservation.

Our team brings clarity to complex topics and technical information, creating communication products and experiences that are thought-provoking and inspiring.

We work on projects across Australia, from national park signs to technical manuals and social enterprise websites.

A bit about the role.

You will work closely with our team to design for a variety of projects, from printed technical guides and websites to national park signs and interpretive displays.

We’re looking for someone who can:
participate in strategic planning and creative ideation
design for digital, print and built products
provide recommendations for printing and fabrication
attend site visits and virtual client meetings
work collaboratively with other creatives to improve drafts
perform administration and ad hoc tasks as required.

A bit about you.

We’re looking for someone with an enthusiastic, self-starter attitude and the confidence to collaborate readily as a valued member of our team.

To be successful in this role, you must have:
3+ years of graphic design experience
formal qualifications in graphic design
skills in Adobe suite (Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign) and skills in MS suite
digital hand drawing skills
an understanding of user-centred design for digital and print products
natural creativity and excellent attention to detail
the ability to work collaboratively alongside colleagues
the ability to work autonomously and show initiative
a commitment to excellence in your work.

Hours.
This role is part-time, with approximately 15–20 hours of work spread across three or four days each week. We encourage work-life balance and are open to negotiating flexible working hours. There is potential for hours to increase for the right candidate.

Location.
Storyflight operates via a virtual workplace, which ensures we have a low environmental impact. You will work from home, but need to have a dedicated workspace where you can set up with two screens. We collaborate regularly using Skype, Slack and email. You must be based in Australia so that we can work together during business hours.
