Melbourne to Tanzania

Are you a Shillington graduate who loves digital design, travel and giving back? Take your talents on a Design Safari! We are proud to partner with Seesaw and offer a paid work and travel opportunity in support of The School of St. Jude in Arusha, Tanzania.

Shillington and Seesaw are both strong supporters of St Jude’s, a school providing high-quality education to more than 1800 of the brightest and poorest students in Tanzania. Selected from families living on less than $2 a day, these students receive an education that consistently ranks in the top 10% nationally, and are given everything they need to escape intergenerational poverty. Graduates—that’s where you come in! We’re offering a paid opportunity to intern at a top Melbourne studio and then continue the important work in Tanzania. It’s a chance to use your creative skills to change lives.

• 8 week part-time internship at Seesaw ($2000 stipend) in Melbourne.
• 1 year full-time paid position ($600/month approx.) at St. Jude’s in Arusha, Tanzania. Accommodation provided.
• Shillington is proud to sponsor the stipend for the Seesaw Internship, your return flight to Tanzania and a special safari to Serengeti National Park.

Part-Time 2 Month Internship at Seesaw (Melbourne)

Start the Design Safari in Melbourne. Working and brainstorming alongside an award-winning senior design team, the successful applicant will design and deliver digital and branded design solutions. You will need to be highly organised, well spoken, well presented and be able to confidently work as a team. Above all you will be a creative thinker with a passion for design and social change. Maintaining studio culture is highly important so a great sense of humour and ability to work within a close knit team is integral. Oh and you must like dogs.

• Three days per week for eight weeks. Negotiable based on the successful applicant.
• Strong work ethic and passion for design
• Strong folio of digital and design work
• Strong design skills with an emphasis on layout, usability and brand integrity
• Ability to work under creative direction and using a branding guide
• Knowledge of the latest web design trends, technologies and practices
• Ability to setup artwork for production
• Skilled in Adobe suite
• Ability to multitask, problem solve and meet deadlines

1 Year Placement at The School of St. Jude (Tanzania)

Spend a year designing and exploring in East Africa! Join 15 other international employees on campus to watch students arrive on day one to pick up uniforms, all the way to the end-of-year graduation celebration. Accommodation is provided and amenities include internet access, hot water and 24 hour security.
