Shillington Winners of the 2018 Print Futures Awards

We’re thrilled to announce that two recent graduates from our London campus have been selected as winners in the 2018 Print Futures Awards! Gemma Purkiss and Rosanna Sutcliffe submitted written entries to Print Futures to be awarded grants of up to £1500 to help with their first steps as graphic designers.

Print Futures celebrates the print industry, they launched in 2003 to help people fund costs associated with a relevant training course in printing, publishing, packaging or graphic arts. Once enrolled as a Shillington student you are eligible to apply. The 2019 Awards will open this month. Find out more.

Gemma Purkiss was working in full-time in film distribution whilst studying part-time at Shillington London. She graduated in July 2018 and has been working on her design and illustration ever since—whilst still balancing her job in the film industry.

Rosanna Sutcliffe was working full time as a Marketing Manager before quitting her job to embark on the full time Shillington course in London last September—graduating in December. We asked what winning the Print Futures Awards meant to her:

“The Print Futures award was instrumental to my being able to do the Shillington course; it gave me the freedom to focus on my studies without worrying about money. The grant was generous, but I was also proud to receive recognition from a charitable organisation I really respect. The awards ceremony at the House of Lords wasn’t too shabby either!”
